OP4 need to change in Korea English education system.

The present time, in Korea English class is so busy. Why they are busy? Teachers only teach grammer and reading. Students are only focus on translation and grammer. I believe all these things are the result of assessment. In Korea, high schools are caring University Enterance Examination(Soo-neung). And UEE assess only reading, grammer and some part of listening. So we need to change this ultimately.

First of all, as you know all language acquirements are consist of four basic skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking. However, under present English education curriculum, we can't acquire speaking and writing skills. Honestly, listening education systems are only focusing on how can solve the problems for UEE.

Secondly, in Korea society, we can't ignore UEE. We use to say that university can decide one man's life. Partly, it's right. If assume that suddenly, teachers begin to teach other skills and change class environment.
Can student accept that?

Honestly, in Korea education system has so many problems except these assessment system. However, I don't doubt all problems are caused by assesment system. I know these system can't be changed in one day. We need to change, yet.

We usually focus on English grammar, vacabularies for test to go to prestigious universities in Korea. Plus, we always ignore speaking skills, writing skills too because we never image that they are going to help our society and daily life. Finally, we recongnize that how important English is in the world and how bad our English education system is right now. Therefore, there are movements to change in Korea. However, lawmakers even other people who get involved with English education system are still arguing a lot concerning how to change our system and the ways to go in good ways.


Let's see all together how it is going to be changed and try to gather our energies to support the change for our victory of English.

It is welcoming that the new government presented blueprint for English assessment system in Suneung, which included testing four skills such as reading, listening, and speaking and writing.
Although people's concerns against its fostering private education surfaced, it is our task to complete in the long run to make students a balanced user of English.
