English Benefits Korea
Communication plays a vital role in today’s global challenge in business or personal affairs. English should possibly be the most integral subject in Korean education because it is definitely a widely spoken language as a second or native tongue. As with other English speaking countries, we also need to find out the benefits of English setting in education, economy and politics.
First of all, there must be educational advantages as well as economical and political. English will benefit Korean education. English education is met with the goal of producing skillful English speakers who can communicate and be equally competitive in the business. Schools are beginning to focus on providing quality English instruction for students in public schools, and even college to prepare their students to be globally competent. We can also bring in more experienced and qualified workforce from English speaking countries. ,
Secondly, there exist great economical benefits from English. Korean parents are mostly concerned about spending large sums of money on private education. It has eaten up about 20 trillion won each year. It’s almost equal to one year budget of Korea. Turning big fund into other important departments, Korea might be able to take up one of the social well fared countries. Moreover, a growing number of Korean companies will be able to take a position throughout the skillful negotiation ability in a global market.
Last, but certainly not, English also can help deal with diplomatic and political disputes between countries. Mutual understanding can be cultivated through a real conversation between countries. We might come up with accompanying a highly advanced interpreter and yet it’s almost impossible to exactly translate what one has in mind. Even just one word can make a counterpart be touched and form a better diplomatic situation.
To sum up, English must be a beneficial instrument to boost Korean educational force, lift up Korean economy, and sail through the difficult international political issues. English skills are not optional, but an essential for living as a member of a global unity. In the end, the benefits of a global language, will play a role to lessen tensions and reach a peaceful world.

Re: [OP3] How does English benefit Korea as a nation?
It's is sad to see that Korean's English-speaking ability is not good despite lots of hard studying English.
It is obvious that the problem is in English education system.
Korea will be able to take higher position in the world stage with better ability of English speaking. I was angry when I saw Korea was classfied in the countries that sould pay a kind of tax to enter USA in the enterance office in USA. Malaysia was classified in different section, which means even Malaysian don't have to pay the tax to enter USA. Malaysia is considered more developed country than korea in the world. I heard one of the reasons was English ability. I think fluent English speaking ability need to make things be changed.

Namsook's feedback
Hi Namsook,
Thanks for an excellent essay on your selected topic. You've demonstrated an excellent understanding of the basics required in categorization writing. I like your breakdown of the main topic, and felt the categories you chose were very valid and well explained - except for the second body paragraph, which frankly I found very confusing both topically and linguistically (highlighted below in green).
However, overall it was an excellent effort!
Below you'll find some language development suggestions:
English education has the goal of producing skillful English speakers who can communicate and be competitive in business (to give Koreans equal opportunities in the world?).
Last, but certainly not least, English can help deal with diplomatic and political disputes between countries.
Mutual understanding can be cultivated through real dialogue between countries.
My advice at this point is to stick to explaining your concepts as simply as you can. That second body paragraph has become confusing to the reader because (I think) you've tried to express it directly in translation from Korean. Try working through a topic like that purely in English, as it will probably come across better.
Keep up the great work,
~ Jason
