These days, more and more native English speaking teachers are being recruited into the public school system. In what ways do you think native and local teachers can team up to provide effective and motivating English instruction in public school settings?

As English ability is important, more native English speaking teachers are in Korea. Usually at least on native teacher is in a each school. The combination of local teachers and native teachers makes an positive effect in public school settings. Here are 3 ways to team them up

The first way is, I think, that they need to understand each culture. Already, they can communicate with each other basically. However, they can communicate further without knowing each other's culture. Culture is very important factor, so sometimes people can be impolite unintentionally. For example, if local teacher asked English teacher how old he/ she is, although it is very common in Korea, it seems that Korean teacher is rude. First of all, they need to understand each other.

The second way is that they share information about language teaching in each country. I think Korean language teaching system has some problems, so we need to observe the example of language education in other countries. Otherwise, Korean education system has advantages, so it helps English native teacher teach in Korea.

The third way is that local and native teacher do activities together. Based on enough understanding and exchanging opinion, cooperative activity is usually more powerful than individual activity. When native teacher has a class, it is more effective that local teacher explains very difficult knowledge. Besides, students can get advantages of local and native teachers.

In conclusion, cooperation of local and native teachers has synergy effect. It suggests effective and innovative English instruction in public shcool. Nowdays, TEE is an issue. I want it to be motivating thanks to cooperation of local and native teachers.
